The island is painted blue and finished with a marble waterfall counter, which is the single move the rest of the room is built around. Everything else stays white so it reads as intentional rather than busy.
An aqua ogee-patterned backsplash tile picks the blue back up at eye level, and a brass bridge faucet and brass-and-white lantern pendant warm the whole scheme.
Glass-front upper cabinets and three rattan counter stools keep the room from feeling hard, which matters in the space a family spends the most waking hours in.
